Hidden
Worlds - tours & courses
Our
programme for
2011 and 2012 (provisional)
has been finalised: updates and offers will always be posted on
the
BLOG
and we can offer fully featured tours for private groups to
Sicily
and the
Dolomites
on request.
After a great deal of thought and looking at what we wish to
achieve in our part of Italy in support of sustainable tourism we
are now concentrating our efforts ‘locally’. But what a
locale...with many of the images on this site gained within easy
reach of home. The long and short of it is we can get great deals
for our clients and ‘put something back’ using local suppliers,
hotels and agriturismos.
B&B
-
From spring 2011 we shall be
offering B&B
for naturalists/photographers and walkers here at our home, Podere
Montecucco. Prices are reasonable, we have good, inexpensive
restaurants nearby but are very happy (being cooks ourselves) to
prepare meals on request using local ingredients, often our own
produce ... vegetables, sauces, jams, marmalades...bread and even
liquers!
Exploring-
then
we can supply you with
itineraries and ideas
for walks and trips here and further afield in Italy. While you are
here we can offer full day guided excursions. We work with you to
provide exactly what you want.
Moving
on...
we can also pass you on to friends throughout Italy who
run
B&B and
agriturismos
who care about their land, its culture and the environment and not
charge you the earth!

on an icon below to provide further details of what is on offer for
2011...
and provisionally for 2012
And
do please remember,
we can create trips tailored to your specific needs virtually
anywhere in Italy at highly competitive rates...try
us.
NB If there is sufficient interest (a minimum of 3 people) we can offer a slightly later Gargano visit in mid May when some interesting orchids are in flower and the butterflies and other insects are particularly good... PHD has been down there this year (2010) giving master classes to Italian professional photographers.
Sibillini (28th May - 4th June 2011) - a favourite, high mountains but not too high and a sense of space with superb flowers and the incomparable Piano Grande. This trip is spectacular for flowers and open mountain vistas. It is not a route march and we leave lots of time to take pictures, too.
Central Italy (7th - 14th May 2011) - close-up and macro - our at home trips and courses where throughout the year we offer courses based around orchids, butterflies...fungi. But whenever you come you will have the chance to learn how to take the kind of pictures you never thought possible.
.
Italy made to measure (anytime...)- a speciality where we use our deep insider knowledge of all things Italian to provide you with the experience of a lifetime. If there is a region that you would particularly like to visit, contact us and we can together devise a trip anywhere in Italy.

Prices...
We
have worked hard to keep prices at 2010 levels given the current
sterling/euro exchange rate and financial situation. We always stay
in comfortable family-run places - for instance, one of them, the
Hotel Elisa at Peschici, Gargano was where PHD stayed on a first
visit in 1979: the small agriturismo in Castelluccio (Sibillini)
trip we discovered just a few years ago and have been back
regularly since.
All
accommodation and meals (including wine and coffee) are included in
the price.
Excluded
are personal expenses, such as pre- or after dinner drinks,
ice-creams etc. Our hotels will provide breakfast and, in the
evenings, we will either eat in the hotel or sample the local
restaurants. Lunches will, weather permitting, involve superb
picnics prepared by Lois – no-one else can match them (OK, I am
hopelessly prejudiced).
All
transport is included
–
we pick you up at the airport, deliver you back and provide all
transfers and visits to locations during the trip.
NB
Flights are NOT included - but we give you a recommended flight
with arrival time. When clients choose to arrive a day or so before
then we meet at the airport
All
bookings are made through SUNVIL HOLIDAYS (many times winners of
awards for their support of sustainable tourism) whose MD, Noel
Josephides, is an old friend. This way you get the backing of AITO
bonding (and ATOL if you also book flights through
Sunvil)
NB
We can take credit card bookings through them but regret we have to
pass on the surcharge levied

We can also send you a pdf on request.
