Alpine Pasque flower (Pulsatilla alpina subsp millefoliata). This species is widely distributed in the alpine regions of the Apennines, growing on open limestone areas in short turf soon after the snow melts. The name millefolia (thousnad-leaved) refers to the finely divided, feathery leaves.Mt Terminillo Lazio, Italy May 2021
