B&B for Naturalists, Walkers and lovers of the Italian Countryside
Podere Montecucco Our home in the Umbrian countryside is an old stone farmhouse situated between Orvieto and Bolsena.
Currently, we advertise one room dedicated to B&B with its high, chestnut-beamed ceiling and a handmade 4-poster bed. In addition our guests have their own entrance, a downstairs sitting room plus breakfast room.
For a group of four friends (eg two couples travelling together we have a second, adjacent, room available but, at present, a bathroom has to be shared.
There are lovely views over the garden and surrounding countryside...it is a place to relax and to discover a wonderful part of Italy, rich in history, especially Etruscan, Rome and Medieval and to immerse yourself in nature. Numerous walks of varying lengths can be taken locally or just a little further afield.
Lois is an Air B&B superhost and being private people ourselves we have great respect for our guests. However..if you need help, advice on walks, restaurants and bookings we are there.

Orvieto is just 15 minutes away with a railway station offering fast and regular connections to Florence and Rome. There are excellent local restaurants. We, Lois and Paul, have lived here in the house since 2004 and renovated it ourselves.We are keen walkers, love the natural world and the history and culture of this part of the world...we are also lovers of Italian food and wines and always ready with help should you require information. We have a large collection of books and maps which our guests are welcome to consult.
