Blue Larkspur (Delphinium fissum)A member of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae.) Perennial plant, 30-60 cm tall, with erect, cylindrical, pubescent stem; the palmate leaves are completely divided into linear laciniae. It blooms from May to August and, like all Delphiniums the plants are toxi to humans and to grazing animals. The plants flower from late spring to late summer, and are pollinated by butterflies and bumble bees. Despite the toxicity, Delphinium species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species, including the dot moth and small angle shades. Mte Veline,
