European centaury (Centaurea erythrea) - Gargano - Wild Flowers
European centaury (Centaurea erythrea) a species of flowering plant in the gentian family known by the common names common centaury and European centaury. This centaury is a widespread plant of Europe (including Scotland, Sweden and Mediterranean countries. The European centaury is used in herbal medicine in many parts of Europe mainly prepared as tisane which is claimed to possess medical properties beneficial for gastric and liver diseases.
