Wild Orchids 2020

We live on essentially volcanic terrain (tuff) from the numerous eruptions of local volcanoes half a million years and more ago. There are calcareous marine clay deposits within a few km but these were well outside the 200m limit of travel from home. When mid May came we were able to travel further afield within Umbria to find orchids and other plants of interest
